Cleveland Biotech expands its sales team
Cleveland Biotech, based in Teesside, has strengthened its sales team with the appointment of two junior sales executives.
As one of the only knowledge-led biochemical engineering companies in the North, the company was keen to employ the best of the region’s graduates to fill the posts.
Both Samantha Granger and Jacquetta Straker are science graduates from the Universities of Teesside and Newcastle respectively.
The sales executives’ roles will involve promoting the company’s popular GreaseBeta product – which is the UK’s best selling fat oil and grease digestant that supports both commercial and industrial fat management.
Ms Granger, said: “I am very excited about my new role as the opportunities are limitless. The company continually invests in new product development so I will have the opportunity to be part of its growth by promoting new and exciting products to the industry.”
The company researches, tests and manufacturers its own products at its Stockton-on-Tees site where it has been based since 1992.
Ms Straker said: “As a science graduate it was my ultimate aim to work for a knowledge-led company that researches and manufacturers its own products; this means the company is more innovative and reactive than the competition and that makes my job more challenging and exciting.”
The roles will primarily require the sales executives to work out of the Stockton base where the company is hoping the pair will take advantage of Government legislation requiring any commercial hot food kitchen to have a grease management system installed. This will ideally lead to an increase in sales of the GreaseBeta product.
Following this the team will investigate the introduction of new products to the marketplace, following research and development projects.
Ben Hoskyns, managing director, said: “We are pleased to expand the core team with these two committed people who have a great enthusiasm for our industry. We are a very ambitious company and these appointments form part of our wider growth plans, which incorporate changes to our manufacturing plant as well as product development.
“We are always on the look out to develop new products based on customer requirements or experience. Both of our new team members are a vital part of this as they need to have their ears close to the ground and identify problems our customers are encountering in the real world, as opposed to in the laboratory. This way we will be able to react quicker and develop new products in an efficient and responsible way.”
