Cleveland Biotech has developed The Baccelerator, a mobile bacterial activation unit. It is capable of growing up specifically tailored bacteria on-site and delivering them continuously. The unit is ideal for dealing with Sewage Treatment Works failing consent or industrial effluent streams that are having trouble degrading a particular organic waste compound.

Cleveland Biotech have used their biological expertise to develop the Baccelerator. This unit is capable of delivering a constant stream of actively growing specifically selected bacteria.

The Baccelerator has been designed to offer the ideal growing conditions for bacteria, so that they reach optimal growth rate prior to discharge. Most importantly they are grown up on the effluent that is to be treated so are therefore pre-acclimatised.

For instance a plant failing its ammonia consent because an organic contaminant is holding back nitrification. It can also be used to grow bacteria for leachate treatment and land remediation.
