Due to a broken supply line a Yorkshire farm had a diesel oil spillage of approximately 1300 litres which contaminated the adjacent soil and the farm irrigation lagoon.

Scientific Environmental Technologies (SET) were commissioned by the loss adjusters to bioremediate the contaminated site.
SET chose Amnite P100 hydrocarbon degrading bacteria as the biological agent to break down the diesel oil. Samples taken at the start of treatment and weekly thereafter were passed to an independent laboratory for assessment and gave the following results.

As can be seen after four weeks of treatment the irrigation lagoon was oil free and the water was again available for irrigation. The soil contamination had been reduced to safe levels and, in the continued presence of the hydrocarbon degrading bacteria, the TPH levels will continue to reduce further.
